The package shipped with download codes for the current versions Wavelab 9 LE and Cubase 9 LE. I recently purchased an H6 and can share with you what I did, along with my thought process for doing so. Things that feel like they'd be pretty standard for editing. Occasionally i use the envelope tool to lower only certain parts of a backing track. I tend to start with a compressor and limiter. I have roughly 6 tracks, the main episode track, then the others are for voice overs and music/effects. In case it matters for features, heres some of the parts of my editing process.

I'm currently using Audacity and was curious which software I should look into first, or which in general is better for a podcaster? I'm asking first because I'd like to grab myself some tutorial and tips and trick type videos and articles to read/listen to tomorrow while I'm at work, before I'd have a chance to fire either piece of software up.
